Dr. Winona Moczygemba, referred to as Dr. Winona by her patients, is the owner/dentist at Rio Grande Valley Children’s Dentistry in Pharr. Prior to establishing her practice in 2003, Dr. Winona was a public health dentist with The National Health Services Corps, where she was recognized for her dedication to the underserved community including recognition by the American Dental Association for her meritorious service to the people of Guatemala.
In addition to her private practice, she is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry and has distinguished herself professionally by pursuing the AGD Mastership Award (MAGD) , something less than 2% of general dentists in the state have done. Dr. Winona was recently nominated by the Rio Grande Valley AGD Chapter as one of only 16 dentists for the 2022 Texas dentist of the year.
Regularly attending continuing education, with the intention of bringing the very best care back to her patients, founded on her educational background including a BA in Biology from UT Austin, followed by her DDS degree from UT Health San Antonio and an additional year of advanced general dentistry training with Audie Murphy Hospital.
Dr. Winona is a mother of four daughters. When she isn’t working she enjoys supporting her girl’s extracurricular activities, helping her daughters care for hogs and chickens through the PSJA FFA, running the occasional 5K, caring for abandoned/stray animals, gardening and reading everything from fiction novels to self-help books.
